Jammu & Kashmir is the northernmost state of India. It is located mostly in Himalayan Mountains. Jammu & Kashmir is home to several valleys such as Kashmir valley, Tawi valley, Chenab valley, Poonch valley, Sindh valley, Lidder valley etc. Indus, Jhelum, Tawi, Ravi and Chenab are the major rivers flowing through the state. Due to its wide range of elevations, its biogeography is diverse and captivating. It is the place of magnificent Chinar trees. Green meadows, mesmerising valleys of flowers and apple orchards eagerly wait to welcome the visitors. Every year lakhs of tourists visit Jammu & Kashmir and get enamoured by its beauty and splendour.

ABOUT RESIDENT COMMISSION, NEW DELHI

  • Trade Commission was established by the government of Jammu & Kashmir in 1947 and was subsequently renamed as Resident Commission. Three Sub-Offices were established at Amritsar, Chandigarh and Mumbai. Principal Resident Commissioner heads The Commission.
